Opening Reception | 2025 Local Black Excellence
February 4, 2025 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm EST
Part of the mission of North Shore Juneteenth Association is to highlight positive images of Black American culture and the diaspora.
Our goal is to do this all year round and of course during Black History Month!!
Join us as we give flowers to our Local Black Excellence honorees. Those recognized hail from Lynn, Revere, and Salem. Banners picturing our current and past honorees will be on display in the Lynn city Hall foyer for the month of February. We encourage you to join us for our Opening Night event.
We want to instill pride in our community and dispel stereotypes about Black Americans and those from the African Diaspora. Various cultures have made positive contributions and continue to support our community in positive ways. Join us as we amplify these examples of excellence.
Definition of Local Black Excellence:
A person of color from Essex County that embraces being Black, has achieved in career, has contributed greatly to their community or both! Nominations are collected in November of each year in preparation for the following year.
Participants will enjoy Light refreshments, event speakers and the unveiling of the display.
