Rally for Immigrant Rights
February 11 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm EST

New Lynn Coalition, in collaboration with coalition member organizations and a range of community groups across the North Shore Essex region, is organizing a Rally for Immigrant Rights on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. The rally will begin at Lynn District Court (580 Essex St.) and conclude at Lynn City Hall.
The rally, held under the theme “Defend Our Community! Defend Democracy! Protect Immigrant Rights!”, seeks to address the pervasive fear of deportation that affects many in our community. In the face of uncertainty, this event will provide a platform for residents, activists, and leaders to demand justice, safety, and the right for all immigrants to live free from fear. The rally aims to emphasize the importance of upholding the dignity and human rights of immigrant populations, many of whom are facing the threat of separation from their families and communities.
The event will feature remarks from community leaders, including clergy members, advocates, and representatives from Lynn’s diverse immigrant populations, including Hispanic, African American, Caribbean, Middle Eastern, Muslim, and others, as well as labor unions and advocacy organizations. These communities have long been integral to the cultural and economic vitality of Lynn and continue to contribute significantly to its growth and development.
“The strength of Lynn lies in the resilience and hard work of its immigrant communities. We must stand united against the injustice and fear that threatens to tear families apart. Every individual deserves to feel safe, valued, and empowered, regardless of their immigration status. This rally is an expression of our commitment to justice, human dignity, and the protection of immigrant rights.”
– Tanveer Malik, Executive Director of the New Lynn Coalition
The rally is open to the public, and all those who stand in support of immigrant rights are encouraged to attend.
