The Douglass Family’s Impact in Lynn

Frederick Douglass descendant Kenneth B. Morris, historian and author of “Frederick Douglass: The Lynn Years” Tom Dalton,, and moderator Doneeca Thurston-Chavez will discuss Douglass’s ties to Lynn, his family’s legacy in Massachusetts, and his 1845 journey to Ireland.
This program is free for Museum members and students .It is $5.00 for non-members. All proceeds from the evening’s event will benefit the Lynn Museum & Arts Center.

This is part of DouglassWeek 2025, a series of events celebrating the lasting impact of Frederick Douglass and his family being held in Boston, Lynn, and New Bedford – three Massachusetts cities where the renowned abolitionist lived and worked. #DouglassWeek 2025 will feature exhibits, conversations with Douglass descendants, activists, educators, and scholars, musical performances featuring Broadway artists, and guided tours of historic sites.
