Galleries At LynnArts (GALA) is inviting artists from diverse mediums to submit artwork to be included in the next exhibit titled “Lure of the Local.” This exhibition seeks to showcase your special ‘local’ place, people or things in your city, not only Lynn. From the artistic lence of the artist, you’ll invite viewers to explore the profound connections between individuals and their surroundings.
Whether you find inspiration in the rugged coastline, the woods, a park, historic landmarks, a historic event, the diversity of your community, or bustling cityscapes, we encourage you to interpret the essence of our region through your piece of art. Through various mediums including but not limited to painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media, we aim to capture the essence of the Northshore in all its complexity. From traditional depictions to avant-garde interpretations, we welcome diverse perspectives that reflect the multifaceted nature of our local environment.
GALA will be taking artwork from June 26 to the 29th, from 12 to 4 pm, or by appointment. Michelle Guzman will be the Curator and Ester Silva, an artist from Brazil will be the Co-curator. A group of volunteers will help to prepare the exhibit and hang the pieces of art. The opening reception is scheduled after the 4th of July holiday, Friday, July 12th from 6 to 9 pm.
