Friends and family of the victims of the Jan. 7, 2023 fire at 13 Valley Avenue have organized a GoFundMe to help those affected. From the GofundMe:
Our dear friend Free (George) Huggins and Ronnie Lewis have experienced a terrible tragedy. Their home was destroyed by a fire, leaving them with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
Free is one of the kindest, most caring people we know, and it breaks our hearts to see them going through such a difficult time. That’s why we are reaching out to our community for help.
Any donation, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated and would go towards helping them rebuild their lives. We are so grateful for your generosity and support during this difficult time.
They are both disabled and elderly and on a fixed income so this will be incredibly hard to do on their own. Red Cross has helped a bit but as you can imagine, it’s no where near enough for rebuilding a whole life.
Thank you for helping Free and Ronnie get back on their feet.
They are currently staying in a hotel that just over 500 a week so anything raised will pay for them to stay there while plus first last and security and all new furniture.
thank you again!!
