Lynn Community Television (LCTV) is thrilled to announce its success at the 16th annual Nor’Easter Awards, hosted by the Alliance for Community Media’s Northeast region. LCTV was recognized in three categories for exceptional video productions, highlighting the team’s commitment to showcasing the creativity, culture, and stories of the Lynn community.

LCTV walked away with accolades in the following categories:

  • Arts & Theatre – 3rd Place: Fabrics of the Community
    • Highlighting the transformation of Lynn’s electrical boxes into colorful public art pieces, created as part of the Lynn Public Art Commission’s “Fabrics of the Community” project.
  • News and Magazine Format – 2nd Place: LCTV News
    • An engaging weekly newscast that keeps the Lynn community informed about local happenings.
  • Community Impact – 1st Place: Little Free Libraries in Lynn
    • Featuring the Free Little Libraries initiative lead by the REAL Program, which promotes literacy and accessibility to books throughout Lynn.

LCTV News Director Dani Vittori and Director of Operations Riley, producers of the winning entries, attended the ceremony December 9th in Mystic Connecticut.

“Hearing my name called and walking up to accept the awards was a surreal experience. I am incredibly grateful to the ACM for recognizing our work but most importantly for my colleagues who work every day to ensure that LCTV proudly represents the diverse community we call home,” said Vittori.

“I love highlighting the best parts of this city, and being able to share that with the community through the projects I work on. The whole team here at LCTV have been doing this sort of work for years, arguably better than anyone else, and having our work recognized at a regional level by our peers was a great feeling,” said Riley.

“We’re fortunate at LCTV to have a very talented and hard-working team,” said Executive Director Seth Albaum. “Our staff do a lot more than the sacred duty of covering municipal boards and committees, they help tell the stories of Lynn. I’m proud of our staff and grateful for the recognition. “A huge thank you to The R.E.A.L. Program and the Lynn Public Arts Commission for collaborating with us on two of these projects. We also want to thank our supporters and the Lynn community.”

The Nor’Easter Awards celebrate the achievements of Community Media/PEG Access Centers and their affiliated local producers in the Northeast. Entries created in 2023 competed across more than a dozen categories and were evaluated by volunteers from media centers around New England. This year’s winners were announced during a ceremony held in Mystic, Connecticut, on December 9th, as part of the ACM-NE’s annual conference.

This recognition highlights the importance of community media in amplifying local voices and fostering connections. LCTV remains committed to producing content that informs, inspires, and strengthens the Lynn community.
