The Lynn English High School drama club has been presenting a spring revue every year for over sixty years now. The current drama club, The English Theater Collective, was not about to let the pandemic stop them from continuing this tradition.

With all the hardships and grief the pandemic brought, it did awaken in students a keen appreciation for the simple pleasure of going to school. In light of this, the club members decided it would be a good time to celebrate and appreciate the school and all the people who make it the special place that it is.

ETC presents “Bulldog Pride,” a collection of scenes and songs that highlight what makes the school an important presence in the lives of the people who go there. The scenes are personal experiences written by LEHS students and adapted for performance by the members of the club, stories that range in topic from dealing with anxiety to a public shooting. The songs are parodies of well-known songs that lampoon some of our teachers and administrators and feature the subjects of the spoofs themselves!

The show will be available on the English Theater Collective YouTube channel starting May 28. It will be free for any who want to see it, but donations to the club are encouraged and can be made on the club’s website: LEHSDrama.org
