SOLynn opens track registration for Spring 2024

Special Olympics Lynn (SOLynn) has just opened up track registration for Spring 2024.

Athletes training with the 2024 SOLynn Track & Field Club will participate in a recreational Track Meet at Milton Academy as well competitively during the Special Olympics MA Summer Games. Practices will be held weekly until from April to May, increasing to 2x a week from May to June. Exact competition participation will be determined by coaches as the athlete develops. 

This is a free program for people with and without intellectual disabilities. It is open to ages 8+, including adults. Athletes will train alongside peers in a team setting, participating in both short & long distance running in Track & Field Individual Events. Events offered are as follows:

  • 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500, and 3000m – Run, Walk, or Wheelchair
  • 50m and 100m – Dash (Guided Race)
  • 4×100 Relay and 4×400 Relay – Traditional and Unified
  • High Jump and Running Long Jump
  • Softball Throw (15m max) and Shot Put

You must register by April 3rd, practices start April 6th

Special Olympics Lynn focuses on curating quality sport programs that showcase and develop the skill, relationship, and communication lines between community members with and without intellectual disability.
