This week on LCTV News we cover some of the big headlines of the past week including LCTV’s election coverage going live, overnight detours on Broadway, updates from the Lynn Parking Department, and more big news from this past week. On this week’s Lynn Lowdown we featured Centerboard in two interviews. The first was about a fundraising event August 7th for their “We Rise” Program, while the second discusses their Family Resource Center taking over managing the Community Fridge.

Centerboard’s We Rise Program were our guests on this week’s first Lowdown. Program Director Sway Harrison & Development Director Machel Piper joined Dani to discuss their upcoming fundraiser and what the We Rise Program does. EmpowHER Night will take place on August 7 from 6-8:30pm at the Palette Function Room (16 City Hall Sq). This impactful evening will feature handcrafted cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live music, a silent auction, and powerful stories of resilience and hope. Guests will have the opportunity to connect with advocates, survivors, and community leaders who are shaping a future free from exploitation. For our second Lowdown this week we welcomed on the Lynn Family Resource Center at Centerboard. FRC Program Director Olivia Grinstead joined us to discuss how they just took over managing the community fridge in Centerboard’s parking lot. Located at 16 City Hall square, the Fridge was originally founded by Lynn natives as a means to combat food insecurity in the city before recently being managed under the FRC. The community is invited to leave donations and take food if they need it, all at no cost.
