This week on LCTV News we cover some of the big headlines of the past week including tan LVTI shop renamed after an alumni, El Centro Teen Center’s after school program, Rivera arraigned on murder charges, and more big news from this past week. We talked about both High Rock Tower and Good Hope Inc’s upcoming run/walk on this week’s double Lowdown.

On the first Lowdown we discuss the Starry Nights program at High Rock Tower.Volunteer astronomer Joshua Judkins joined Dani to discuss the observatory, telescope used, and how unique it is that Lynn has a public observatory. On select nights during the year the observatory is open to the public and can see the Moon, Jupiter, Saturn, nebula, and more.

On the second Lowdown we talk about the 9th Annual Running & Walking Well 5K on June 7, 2025 in Nahant. Race director Leighton O’Connor joined us to talk about the 5K and some of what Good Hope Inc. does throughout the year. The 5K will start at 9am from the Nahant Life Saving Station and funds will benefit the construction of a well in the Lira District of Northern Uganda, providing clean and accessible water to thousands in need.
Founded in 2006, Good Hope, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health and growth opportunities for individuals and families by providing food, medical care, education, clean drinking water, and support for inmates both locally and globally.
