The City of Lynn is currently seeking a Poet Laureate.
Applications for Poet Laureate will be open from January 1-31, 2025. Whoever holds this position will be a literary leader, creative ambassador, and collaborator with various arts communities. This position is for a 2-year term and will have a $2,500 stipend.
Eligibility Requirements:
- 21 years or older
- Comfort with Presenting in English
- Ideal candidate should live, work, or create in the city of Lynn and live in Lynn during the duration of the program
- A portfolio of work via a website, social media, publication (If applicable), or a blog a piece prepared for an interview
A Selection Committee will be established to make recommendations to the Mayor for appointment of the City of Lynn’s Poet Laureate. The committee will consist of the City’s Arts and Cultural Planner, a member of the Lynn City Council, a representative of the Lynn Public Library, a representative of the Lynn Cultural Council and a representative of the Lynn Public Art’s Commission.
