GALA’s (Galleries at LynnArts) will be opening a new exhibit titled Memoirs on July 1st.

We all have multiple stories of how we came to be the people we are and the community(ies) we inhabit. In Memoirs, GALA hopes to share the diversity of amateur and professional artists in a variety of media, painters, sculptors, musicians, writers, dancers, and other performers.

They asked people to explore who they are and how did they become that unique person. What do they believe in and how has the journey of life changed them. 2020 has forever changed the public conversation and the way artists interact, create, and view themselves and their work. GALA wanted that examination of self, community, process, history and life to be the focus of this show.

This show will be open to the public starting on July 1st, please find current hours posted on social media and on the GALA website. The show will also be available online so those not in the area can still enjoy the works.

All summer long, GALA (Galleries at LynnArts) will be offering week long Pop-ups to area artists and creatives.

From June 29th-July 5th, Lisa Hayden will be in the community gallery.

Lisa Hayden is a contemporary artist creating colorful paintings in an abstract expressionist style, with a focus on abstracted landscapes and seascapes. A Massachusetts native, she studied painting at the University of Miami, where the vibrant colors of the warm ocean, palm trees, and architecture have combined with a life in New England to form a lasting influence on her art for over 25 years.

A creative force in her work is a love of the ocean and nature; paintings often explore the intersection of human feelings and the natural world. An expression of both abstract concepts and landscapes through color, texture and motion is behind each piece of art.

Lisa will be open to the public July 1st 12-3PM, July 2nd 5 – 8PM, July 3rd 11AM-5PM and July 4th 12-3PM.
