Lynn Public Schools Introduces CYCLE Kids Program to Promote Healthy Lifestyles and Physical Activity

Lynn Public Schools is proud to announce the implementation of the CYCLE Kids program across elementary schools in the district. This innovative initiative aims to instill healthy habits and promote physical activity among students, reinforcing the district’s commitment to the holistic well-being of its students.

“The CYCLE Kids program not only promotes physical activity and healthy habits, but it also fosters a sense of empowerment and independence in our student said Director of Health/Physical Education Colleen Peterson. “PE teachers will teach students how to ride a bike safely and equip them with important life skills that will benefit them both now and in the future. Students will also get to practice teamwork and problem-solving, as they navigate through various challenges and activities.”

Through interactive activities, students will learn about bike safety and the importance of regular physical activity for overall health and well-being. The program will be piloted at Drewicz, Harrington, and Shoemaker Elementary, thanks to Dr. Alvarez connecting us to this fantastic program.  This program provides students in the 4th and 5th grades with the opportunity to learn valuable skills and knowledge about bike safety, maintenance, and overall health and wellness.

The implementation of the CYCLE Kids program in Lynn Public Schools underscores the district’s commitment to fostering a supportive environment that promotes the physical, mental, and emotional health of its students.
