LCTV News | May 31, 2024 – Full broadcast
This week on LCTV News we cover some of the big headlines of the past week including Mayor Nicholson requesting a bond authorization, beach programming receiving a boost, drownings over the weekend, and more big news from this past week. We also show recaps of the annual Memorial Day ceremony, Raw’s block party and exhibit opening, and more from over the last week.
The Grand Army of The Republic Hall & Museum were our guests on this edition of the Lynn Lowdown. Wendy Joseph (Curator & Building Manager) and Patti Pendexter (Chair of the GAR Trustees) joined us to discuss renovations and future plans for the GAR. This renovation project will take many months but will bring the building up to ADA compliance, revitalize the building to its former glory, and open opportunities. The GAR houses hundreds of pieces of memorabilia from various wars, but mainly the Civil War, and the massive meeting hall honors all those who served from Lynn in the Civil War.
Find out more about the GAR by calling 617-680-1707, visiting garlynn.org, or going to room 104 in City Hall.
