North Shore Juneteenth Association Seeks Local Black Excellence Nominations
It is time to select the Black Excellence nominees for 2025!
Every year North Shore Juneteenth Association seeks to recognize local Black community members who exemplify Black excellence.
They are now seeking input from the community to help identify 10 nominees for this honor.
NSJA says their definition of Local Black Excellence is “a community member of color from Essex County that embraces being Black, has achieved in their career, has contributed greatly to their community, or both!” They encourage anyone that knows a person of color who fits the criteria to nominate them, and encourage your network to make nominations as well.
The 10 people choosen will be honored during an opening reception for the Local Black Excellence Display held during Black History Month, in the foyer of Lynn City Hall. There will be a speaking program, food, and Black History Month celebration. Other activities will be announced by NSJA, and added to our Community Calendar, in the coming months – including their annual Family Friendly Paint event.
For more information you can contact NSJA President Nicole McClain at 781-315-2077 or nsjuneteenth@gmail.com.
The above information was submitted to us by the North Shore Juneteenth Association.
