This week on LCTV News we cover some of the big headlines of the past week including saying goodbye to longtime Ward Councilors, My Brothers’ Table securing a food grant, Khmer community rallying for peace, and more big news from this past week. We also show recaps of the annual Christmas Eve parade, LPS Band Performance, and more from the last week.

This week we featured two editions of the Lynn Lowdown, about the “Love Your Teacher” and “Blessing Baskets” events that took place over the last month.

First was the Love Your Teacher event, where we were joined by Greg Byrd from the Navigation Church. In November Byrd teamed up with One Mighty Mill and dozens of volunteers to deliver 2,400 bagels to teachers at all Lynn schools. Byrd discussed why he organized this event, how it went, his mission for a new church in Lynn, and more.

On the Second Lynn Lowdown we highlighted the Blessing Baskets event that took place around Thanksgiving. Jean-Marie Minton of Minton Regan Homes has been organizing this event for 4 years, aiming to provide non-perishables for holiday meals for those in need. Baskets were distributed to students at Aborn, Brickett, Cobbet, Harrington & Hood Elementary Schools – with social workers and guidance councilors working to identify families in need.
